If passed this bill would give a pathway to citizenship to an estimated 2.1 million illegal young adults and cost the U.S. taxpayers billions and billions of dollars with this illegal alien student bailout. TALKING POINTS
- We DO NOT support the DREAM Act. Tell the Senator to vote "NO" on cloture and encourage the Senator to stand firm with all 42 Republican Senators to focus on (1) the Bush tax cuts and (2) funding the government. First things first!
- The DREAM Act will open the door to endless illegal immigration since it has no end date, it does nothing to address chain migration, and contains loopholes that can lead to fraudulent applications.
- The DREAM Act provides work permits to millions of illegal aliens at a time when 22 million Americans can't find a job. Congress should be using the lame duck session to get unemployed Americans back to work, not provide an amnesty for illegal aliens.

The DREAM Act is an Amnesty covering 2.1 million young adults. The DREAM Act would give young illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship if they complete 2 years of college or 2 years in the military. To qualify, they also must have come to the country before the age of 16 and have been in the United States longer than 5 years. It is very disappointing that Senator Reid is trying to force an amnesty through Congress and onto the American people when 22 million Americans cannot find a job. Congress needs to concentrate on creating jobs for all AMERICANS and LEGAL IMMIGRANTS instead of creating amnesties for this illegal alien student bailout!
Things in the House have been delayed a bit. Good news, but keep calling because the House Rules Committee has not yet met to establish procedures for the debate.

Ms. Collins office states "She doesn't know how she feels about it yet?" I said "WHAT, it's not like its been a hidden issue and she doesn't know yet!" This tells me she will vote Yes....

ReplyDeleteThis bill is so insulting to the American people. I am 39yrs old & still trying to get my degree & can't because tuition is too high for me. I have worked & paid taxes for since I turned 18. I have played by the rules the government has set out for me. I don't make a lot of money but I do work hard so that I don't have to get government assistance and yet MY GOVERNEMENT gives free education to ILLEGALS! THIS ACT IS SO WRONG FOR AMERICA! May God Bless us & help us restore America's sanity!
We got through to SNOWE! Her office just release a statement: Snowe said: "Millions of illegal immigrants could attempt to become legal residents as a result of this proposal, according to some estimates, and it is incumbent upon the Senate to ensure our policies never again lead to a situation where we are confronted with upwards of 12 million illegal immigrants residing within our borders."
ReplyDeleteI just made the calls and Snowe, Murkowski and Collins staffers said they didn't know how their Senators were voting. I responded that it is the people who decide and not them. I told them to pass that to their Senator with the wish of the people to vote NO.
